Skis with gluttonous waists were a dime a dozen, and everything was soft and floppy — stellar for those perfect days when you’re the only one on the mountain. The downside? Once it got tracked out, things got scary, real scary, fast. That’s where the Ghost Train comes in: early taper, flat camber underfoot, and more splay than you’ve seen since the early oughts — all for the silly fun slash-ability we all crave, along with some actual composure and confidence when conditions inevitably get chewed up and spit back out. The secret is a bastardized take on Triple Camber that we’ve kept closely guarded under lock and key, making the Ghost Train what most of us consider the yardstick against which all powder skis are measured, and in our personal quivers? It’s one of those ā€œcold dead handsā€ skis. Throw some Trains under your feet and make everyone else in the lift line jealous.
